This volcanic massif whose highest point is the volcano Siroua (3305m), located at the gates of the Sahara, has an extraordinary variety of reliefs due to erosion of lava, basalt and granite, contrasting with large pastures. Day 1 : Arrival at Marrakech
Reception at the airport by your guide and transfer to the riad. Free for dinner.
Day 2 : Marrakech - Tizi n’Tichka mountain pass - Anzal – Tachakoucht (2h walk, 4h30 in minibus)
Departure from Marrakech by minibus to the heart of Siroua via the mountain pass of Tichka and Anzal. Arrival at Tachakoucht. Trekking in the middle of the afternoon to discover the surroundings of the village. Dinner and overnight in lodge at the inhabitant.
Day 3 : Tachakoucht – Tourtit - Aziwane (6h walk, drop + 400m, - 300m)
Early in the morning, the muleteer’s team is ready to go, loading logistics on pack animals and start hiking along the creek. Passage to the large village of Tourtit characterized by its minaret and continue to the spectacular site of needles Aziwane at 2300m. Installing the tent basement in the meadow at the bottom of rocky peaks.
Day 4 : Height Sheepfolds - Oued Iriri (6h walk, drop + 600m, - 700m)
Trekking and exploring the meadows and height sheepfolds, then climb a winding trail to the crest of jbel Amzdour; we bypass the cliffs at 3000m, beautiful panorama on top of Siroua and nipples of Tikniwine, descent into the Iriri oued, essential site (typical sheepfolds side of the world). Installing the bivouac at 2200m.
Day 5 : Bergeries d’Iriri – Tikniwine – Iferd N’Magous (4h30 walk, drop + 500m, -150m)
Trekking and total immersion in the heart of the massif and its altitude meadows, isolated sheepfolds, muleteer’s tracks bypassing the pitons of Tikniwine. Installing the bivouac at 2600m at Iferd N'Magous.
Day 6 : Ascent of Siroua (3305m) – waterfall of Ait Ighmour (6h30 walk, drop + 750m, - 600m)
Ascent of Siroua (3305m) by a winding path: start walking on scree, last 40m on a rock. 360 ° panoramic view on the Atlas Mountains, the top of Toubkal and pre-Saharan mountains. Descent to the east along a balcony crest towards the bivouac located at the mountain pass of Ait Ighmour (2500m).
Day 7 : Aït Ighmour – Anzal - Marrakech (2h30 walk, 5h in 4x4)
Descending into the valley of Ait Samgane. At Aït Ighmour, visit of the collective attic (if open on the day of your visit). Recovery in 4x4 vehicle and return to Marrakech, Lunch during journey. Installation at your 3 stars hotel. Free for dinner.
Day 8 : Marrakech
Transfer to Marrakech airport and flight back to France.
