The Jbel Saghro is located between the High Atlas Mountains and the Sahara desert. Monoliths and high volcanic peaks looking like the southwest of the United States with plateaus of sparse vegetation, canyons and oases. We will meet and have tea with the nomads Ait Atta who live in this hostile and isolated landscape. Jackals, foxes, wolves, toads, frogs, buzzards and Bonelli's eagle (declining) also live here. The trees consist of date palms, acacias, tamarisks and oleanders.
Day 1 : Arrival in Marrakech and transfer to the accommodation.
Day 2 : Marrakech - Aït Youl - 6h30 walk
After breakfast, transfer to Aït Youl, meeting with the muleteer’s team, loading equipment and start trekking. We cross douars and villages from Mgouna to the foot of the chain Saghro. We let the Mgoun behind us and come to the heart of a volcanic landscape planted here and there with wormwood. Night under the tent Tidkit (1600m).
Day 3 : Tidkit - Tizi N'Tagmout- N'Ait Ouzzine - 6h walk
After breakfast, we go to the foot of the mountain Afougahl. Then we descend into a valley planted with oleanders. This valley leads us to the plateau Elmar until Tagmoute mountain pass (1890m). The afternoon brings us to the mountain Tin Ouayour to reach the village of Assaka. Night under the tent at N'Ait Ouzzine (1600m).
Day 4 : N'Ait Ouzzine - Tifdassine - 6h30 walk
We follow the valley of Assaka and cross a series of small villages: Tajlalacht, Berkik, Berkou. Herds of goats and sheeps allow people to live decently. The arrival on the south side of Saghro is scheduled for the late afternoon. Night under the tent Tifdassine.
Day 5 : Tifdassine - Igli - 7h walk
We continue east to the pass of Alhyabe. We cross Ilhazzoue and then the plateau Tadaoute N'Tiblahe. We have a fantastic view on the volcanic landscape made of rocky peaks, conglomerates and tormented basaltic rocks. Night under the tent Igli (1600m).
Day 6 : Igli- Bab Ne Ali- 3h walk then 1h30 in 4x4
We get to Tissagdalte where we have a panoramic view of the conglomerate bab Ne Ali. We will let the mules and continue with the vehicles to n’Kob. Night in a guesthouse.
Day 7 : N'Kob - Marrakech
Visit of N'Kob. Return to Marrakech through Draa valley. Night in an hotel.
Day 8 :
Transfer to airport and assistance until departure.
