Day 1 (6h walking)
You leave Marrakech to Imlil by the Riraya Oued, the Tahanaoute Valley 32kms of Marrakech, this is the opportunity to discover mountain landscapes and Berber villages throughout the valley of Ait Mizan. Imlil is the starting point of your trek where you will meet your guide and his team (the mule and the cook). They take care of you, take care of logistic and you will taste the delicious Berber cuisine. The higher you go, the more beautiful the view is, the mule track is the only way to reach the refuge of Toubkal (3200m). On your way you will meet the famous Marabout Sidi Chamharouch (2500m). Non-Muslims are not allowed to visit but you can take pictures from outside.
A hot shower is available in the refuge, the mint tea will be ready at your arrival. You can spend the night in the dormitory of the refuge or in tent.
Day 2 (6h walking)
Early breakfast to begin the ascent very early and avoid too much sunshine on the road to the top. A muleteer will walk with you in case of altitude sickness of one of you. He may take the sicked person to the hut and others will continue.
During the 3 hours walk uphill, you will have the best feeling of your life, the beauty of the mountains of the High Atlas will surprise you, you will see all the surrounding Berber villages, green valleys and even the Jebel Siroua can be seen.
At the top, after resting and taken pictures, you go back to the base camp by a different path. The descent takes 2:30.
