A short hike through the beautiful landscapes of Central High Atlas, starting with the typical adobe Berber villages of Ait Bougmez valley to the high alpine Mgoun plateaus and its incredible peaks.
Day 1 : Leave Marrakech by minibus, passing through Azilal then arrival at Agouti (about 1700m).
4 hours drive. Meet the muleteers team.
Departure for the hiking towards Azib Ikis. Bivouac to Arous sheep (2300m), walking about 3:30.
Day 2 :
After breakfast, we continue our trek softly but with a good pace to reach the first Oumskiyde Pass (3400m) to reach our basecamp of Mount M'Goun (4080m) on the Tarkeddit plateau (2900m). Bivouac. A day walk about 5:30 hours.
Day 3 : climbing of the Mount M'goun.
Starting at 5am. It's a long day but the beautiful scenery and the view over a large part of the Atlas, the Saghro massif, the Dades Valley await you and reward of the morning sunrise. Then a nice descent is expected to reach our bivouac at Taghbaloute Laasif (2700m). Around 9 hours walk.
Day 4 :
One day of 7 hours walk to go through the Mgoun and join the valley of Aït Bougmez through the Aït Imi Pass (2900m). Panoramic view of the whole valley and the high peaks of Wawgoulzat and Azourki. Arrival at the village of Tabant. We retrieve our minibus here to go back to Marrakech through the valley of Ait Bou Ouli.
